Berrien County Warrant Records Berrien County Warrant Records

This page explains what we can and cannot help with, and where to send a question about an official Berrien County warrant. Most requests belong with the sheriff's records desk or the court that issued the order, and the routing below points each one to the right place.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear one, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, reach the sheriff's office or the issuing court directly.

Here is where to route the questions most people ask about in Berrien County:

  • Whether a warrant exists: start with the sheriff's records desk, and note that county guidance points to an in-person identity check at a local police department with photo identification, because the sheriff cannot verify identity by phone
  • A bench warrant for a missed court date: call the court that set the case, either the Trial Court criminal division in St. Joseph or Niles, or the Friend of the Court for a support matter
  • Resolving or clearing a warrant: talk with a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a surrender, or posting bond
  • An arrest warrant tied to a charge: the issuing court sets the charge and bond, and the sheriff's office or a city police department serves it

For records held at the county level, the counter is the Sheriff's Records Division: 919 Port Street, St. Joseph, MI 49085, 269-983-7141 ext. 7211. Records answers Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the sheriff's FAQ notes that lobby visits are by appointment, generally between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., so call before you go.
